Challenge

The residential project's site was growing on one segment: developer instalments. The hub page produced 81 clicks against zero a year earlier across 94 queries and reached position six. The rest of the semantics stood still. The task was to capture demand around instalments without diluting the hub, and to understand why the site was losing impressions at the same time.

Solution

01
Three satellites for financial intent: a 5% down payment versus the banks' 15–25%, developer instalments versus a mortgage, a payment calculator
02
Built from the raw page file, not the served version, to avoid double cache processing
03
An 18-day check in Search Console: indexing, impressions, hub cannibalisation
04
A parasite found: the www version ate 43% of the site's impressions at a 0.76% click-through against 4.1% on the canonical, because only the www sitemap had been submitted. The right one submitted, reindexing requested
05
The hub got current prices and a recalculated payment example

Deep dive

What the console showed after 18 days

All three satellites were indexed; indexing was not the problem. Impressions were almost absent: the down-payment page got four clicks on 32 impressions at 12.5% click-through, meaning the content works but is rarely shown. Reasons: the satellites were orphans without a single internal link, the hub takes all instalment semantics, and the word «calculator» had not a single query in three months.

Honest conclusions, not in our favour: the calculator should be a block of the hub, not a separate URL. Real demand is phrased as «developer instalments with a 5,000 euro down payment», 384 impressions at position 5.5, and the down-payment page should be tuned to that, not to «apartment down payment» with five impressions.

Organic dynamics

July against April–June in clicks per day: the site's commercial core plus 28%, the instalment hub plus 31%, one-bedroom pages plus 189%. The whole site plus 10%, because non-target traffic to service pages fell by a third at the same time. In money terms that is a clean-up, not a loss.

The next step follows from the data: internal links to the satellites from the hub and the home page, the calculator moved inside the hub, the down-payment page re-tuned to the real demand phrasing.
